Why we exist

Companies arrive in New Zealand with strong products and thin local context. Trade statistics, a few friendly dinners, and a warehouse quote are not a market entry plan. Innovation Data was formed to give leadership teams a clearer reading of demand, channels, partners, and sequencing before they commit rent, inventory, and headcount.

Origin

The practice grew out of advisory work with exporters and incoming firms who kept asking the same questions in different industries: where to land first, whom to trust, and which assumptions would fail under New Zealand conditions. We kept the work narrow on purpose — market entry and expansion within this country — so depth stays higher than a generalist strategy brief.

How we work with clients

We prefer few concurrent engagements. Each brief has a named lead, a written scope, and checkpoints where you can pause if evidence changes the thesis. We do not sell retainers that exist to fill calendars; when the decision is made, the engagement ends or shifts to a defined soft-landing package.

We meet clients at Level 6, 34 Shortland Street, Auckland 1010, and travel when a brief requires on-the-ground observation outside Auckland.
