NZ Market Entry Advisory
A full advisory engagement that turns an expansion hypothesis into a decision-ready entry plan for New Zealand.
Who this is for
Leadership teams preparing to open a New Zealand presence — or to expand from one NZ region into others — who need an independent reading of demand, channel options, regulatory touchpoints, and practical sequencing. Typical clients include overseas manufacturers, specialty consumer brands, professional services firms, and industrial suppliers with a serious capital plan and incomplete local context.
Result you leave with
A decision-ready entry memo covering recommended first market footprint, channel and partner options, key compliance checkpoints, a risk register, and a 90-day action sequence. The memo is written for boards and investors who must approve budget, not for a slide archive.

- Desk research using New Zealand trade, industry, and regional sources

- Ongoing sales execution or interim management
- Paid media buying or creative production
- Guaranteed introductions to specific named firms
How we work
- Framing (week 1) — Clarify the expansion thesis, constraints, capital window, and what “success” means in the first 12–24 months.
- Evidence (weeks 2–6) — Research, interviews, and site or channel observations across the regions that matter to your brief.
- Synthesis (weeks 7–9) — Draft options, pressure-test assumptions with you, refine the recommended path.
- Decision support (final weeks) — Deliver the memo, walk through risks, and agree the first operational moves.
Duration and delivery
Most engagements run six to twelve weeks depending on category complexity and the number of regions under review. Work is led from our Auckland office at Shortland Street, with video sessions for overseas stakeholders and travel within New Zealand when the brief requires it.
Preparation
Before kick-off we ask for: current product or service description, pricing bands, existing NZ contacts (if any), capital or partnership constraints, and the questions your board must answer to proceed. Incomplete materials slow the evidence phase; we will say so early.
Pricing basis
Quoted as a fixed engagement fee after a discovery call. Fees reflect category complexity, interview load, and travel. See the Fees page for indicative ranges.
